Traveling isn't the answer to my problems

Traveling isn't the answer to my problems

To be honest, this is something I used to believe for years!

I developed my own way of coping with trauma and challenges in my life which included moving away from whatever I felt I didn't want to have in my life any longer.

This could be a situation where I was no longer happy in the place where I lived, or in a relationship, a friendship or a job that no longer fit me.

Traveling to another country, starting a new friendship, getting a new job were all ways for me to see if this was why I wasn't feeling great at the time. This was my way of figuring out what needed to change...

By going to new places, discovering new cultures and languages and meeting new people, I could feel what no longer served me in my old life. The risk you take to start over every time is worth it when you feel it brings you joy and happiness, which in my case happened every time.

Traveling with my family however is a whole different situation to be honest, because it involves a lot of focus on what is important for our family wellbeing. This is something my husband and I have been practicing now for some years together with our daughter by taking her to different countries and continents to see how we cope with change.

These adventures have been so empowering and helpful in our lives, that we feel so blessed to have had that opportunity to grow together as a family. The struggles and challenges we've had to deal with has really made our bond stronger and grow our love in ways we never believed possible.

Off course it is not necessary to travel all the time, or make it a lifestyle or move away to other countries like I did, but I would definitely recommend trying out some small adventures to help you grow. Only you know what is something that scares you a little bit, but at the same time somehow also attracts you.

Focus on that little step that you could take outside of your comfort zone and see how it makes you feel...

Traveling outside of what you know to be safe and secure can open up a whole new life with endless opportunities...

What are you waiting for?

Thanks for sharing and encouraging me to get out of my comfort zone. I’m so excited to take this small step and discover what the universe has planned for me.
